Redwood Outdoors’ barrel sauna kits come with a Harvia electric heater, a wooden heater guard, a water bucket and ladle, sauna rocks, and seats for sitting inside. Our saunas heat up to 195 F in less than an hour, and you can enjoy them wet or dry, just like in a real Scandinavian sauna.

Keep in mind that some of the pictures are of an 8-person (8-foot) unit. This is a 6-person (6ft) unit for sale. Two cradles and two steel bands are included.

Traditional Scaninavian Design

The Scandinavian barrel sauna is classic in its beauty, as it is very simple. The tongue-and-groove wooden staves that make up our barrel saunas are held together by stainless steel bands and fasteners. The timber staves can naturally expand and contract, and the method locks them together to make a tight seal. The support cradles that come with the sauna keep the bottom of the sauna off the ground. Our Scandinavian barrel saunas are not only beautiful to look at, but they also use very little energy and keep the heat spread out evenly inside.

Thermowood Construction

Scandinavian softwood is heated to temperatures between 180° and 230° for up to 96 hours in special chamber kilns to make thermowood. One way to protect the wood during treatment is to use steam. This gas keeps the wood from splitting and getting destroyed.

Thermowood’s Characteristics & Qualities

The wood goes through chemical and structural changes because of this process, which changes some of its traits and characteristics. Some of the things that make Thermowood such a famous species are the following:

In terms of size, the wood is stable because the high temperatures it goes through during production dry it out deep inside, removing all the water and glue. Because of this, thermowood doesn’t respond as strongly to changes in humidity as untreated wood would. It’s less likely to swell, crack, or shrink, so it keeps its shape much better. Even when it’s very hot, the wood doesn’t give off any sap or glue.

Environmentally Friendly—The softwood used to make Thermowood comes from well-managed, PEFC-certified woods. No chemicals or other foreign substances are used in the production process, so Thermowood is made in a way that is safe for the environment.

Rot and fungus Resistance: The heating process breaks down hemicellulose, so the wood doesn’t have the right nutrients for rot and fungus to grow.

It will last longer because heat treatments make wood last longer. This means that your sauna will last forever!

Better Insulation: Heat-treated wood is much less dense than raw wood, which makes it much better at keeping heat in.

The Relaxation Comes Naturally

There is a back rest in our sauna kit so you can relax. While you relax on a wooden bench with friends or family, take in the soft lighting and pleasant smells of the thermowood in a sauna room. People who use our saunas get a real Scandinavian sauna experience that is both relaxing and true. There is a towel hook built in that you can use to hang your towels while you dry off and cool down between rounds.

Manual Control Or Wi-Fi Control Heater Options

Our heaters that you control by hand have two dials: one for warmth and one for time. Because the timer can be set for up to 8 hours, you can set the heater to turn on while you’re away, and when you get back, your sauna will be ready.

To handle our digital Wi-Fi heaters, you can use the digital wall pad that is mounted next to your sauna, or you can use your phone or tablet. The best thing about the Wi-Fi control is that it lets you start the sauna from a distance, so you can pre-heat it from anywhere, like the office or the hills. When you get home, your sauna will be ready with just a few taps on your phone. You can also set Wi-Fi lamps to turn on at a certain time, like early in the morning.

You won’t be able to change from a heater with traditional controls to one with a digital Wi-Fi system in the future. The automatic heater and the manual heater look a lot alike, but they are actually very different. What this means is that you have to choose the control method right away.

Easy Self Assembly

It’s easy to put together our sauna kits! Each of our saunas is made with the do-it-yourself customer in mind. Since the pieces are already cut and filed, you don’t have to saw or cut anything.

Anyone who isn’t very good at woodworking could make one in four hours. An adjustable wrench, a hammer, a rubber mallet, and a spirit level are all that the person putting the parts together will need.
