Redwood Outdoors’ barrel sauna kits come with either an electric heater or a wood-burning stove, a wooden heater guard, a water bucket and ladle, sauna rocks and seats for sitting inside. Our saunas heat up to 195 F in less than an hour, and you can enjoy them wet or dry, just like in a real Scandinavian sauna.

100% Grade-A Canadian Red Cedar

All of our saunas made from cedar barrels are made from 100% Canadian Red Cedar. We choose the best cedar because it has been shown to stand up to weather and other forces. Cedar is the best wood for outdoor use because it lasts the longest. If you take good care of your wood sauna, it should last between 15 and 20 years.

Traditional Scandinavian Design

The Scandinavian barrel sauna is classic in its beauty, as it is very simple. The tongue-and-groove wooden staves that make up our barrel saunas are held together by stainless steel bands and fasteners. The timber staves can naturally expand and contract, and the method locks them together to make a tight seal. The support cradles that come with the sauna keep the bottom of the sauna off the ground. Our Scandinavian barrel saunas are not only beautiful to look at, but they also use very little energy and keep the heat spread out evenly inside.

Our barrel sauna in this style has a stylish front porch with two seats, cup holders, and a towel rack. The front porch is a great place to cool off and rest between sauna sessions.

Manual Control or Wi-Fi Control Heater Options

Our heaters that you control by hand have two dials: one for warmth and one for time. Because the timer can be set for up to 8 hours, you can set the heater to turn on while you’re away, and when you get back, your sauna will be ready.

To handle our digital Wi-Fi heaters, you can use the digital wall pad that is mounted next to your sauna, or you can use your phone or tablet. The best thing about the Wi-Fi control is that it lets you start the sauna from a distance, so you can pre-heat it from anywhere, like the office or the hills. When you get home, your sauna will be ready with just a few taps on your phone. You can also set Wi-Fi lamps to turn on at a certain time, like early in the morning.

You won’t be able to change from a heater with traditional controls to one with a digital Wi-Fi system in the future. The automatic heater and the manual heater look a lot alike, but they are actually very different. What this means is that you have to choose the control method right away.

Wood-Burining Stove Option For Off-Grid Customers

Traditional saunas that burn wood are very special. The crackling fire, the warm steam from the rocks, and the routine of tending the fire all come together to make an experience that will last a lifetime. The Harvia M3 is a small stove that burns wood and works great in our spas. To put the chimney kit together, you have to cut a circle in the roof staves. The job could be done by a handyman or a more skilled do-it-yourselfer.Important: Our chimney kit is not sold with the house.You can get chimney pipe and stove items from somewhere else if you’d rather. If you are getting it yourself, you will need 6 feet of stove pipe with a width of 6 inches, protective flashing on the inside, a chimney collar and an outside rain flange. Also, keep in mind that the M3 wood stove is bigger than the electric heaters, which means that the sauna can’t hold as many people.

Easy Self Assembly

It’s easy to put together our sauna kits! Each of our saunas is made with the do-it-yourself customer in mind. Since the pieces are already cut and filed, you don’t have to saw or cut anything.

Anyone who isn’t very good at woodworking could make one in four hours. There is a level, a Phillips screwdriver, a 9/16-inch deep socket wrench, vice grips and a mallet that the person putting things together will need.
